This data source reflects all Marion County residents identified as COVID-19 positive who have had a positive laboratory result or deaths that were clinically diagnosed without a positive laboratory result reported to the Indiana Department of Health (IDH). Not all cases have received a full case investigation, leading to missing information on some cases. Data from IDH is supplemented by additional investigation information recorded by Marion County’s Infectious Disease Department in an MCPHD database. Please see IDH’s Coronavirus Resource Page for official case and death counts. Not all cases are currently entered and below information is subject to change when more information is available and new cases are entered. Marion County population size is estimated using information from the American Community Survey and Census Bureau.

Marion County difference by race:

African American residents had 108 deaths per 100,000 population, while White residents had 80 deaths per 100,000 population. These statistics omit the 16% of deaths for which race was unknown.

African American residents had 2779 cases per 100,000 population, while White residents had 2752 cases per 100,000 population. These statistics omit the 23% of cases for which race was unknown.

Marion County difference by gender:

Male residents had 105 deaths per 100,000 population, while female residents had 89 deaths per 100,000 population.

Male residents had 4182 cases per 100,000 population, while female residents had 4495 cases per 100,000 population.
