Mosquito Control Efforts

To prevent and/or reduce the potential for mosquito disease transmission through the use of Integrated Mosquito Management (IMM):

  • Chemical Control- kill larvae (larvicding) and adult (adulticiding) mosquitoes to keep larvae from hatching and adult mosquitoes from biting people.

  • Biological control- placing of mosquito fish to eat the larvae.

  • Education – teaching how to reduce mosquito breeding sites around the home and avoiding mosquito bites.

  • Source Reduction- reducing a major breeding ground for mosquitoes by collecting tires.

Tire Recycle Days 2016: June 11 and August 6

  •        Active monitoring of mosquitoes, including West Nile Virus
