Nutrition and Physical Activity

  • Offered for Grades 5 through 12
  • 4 to 10 Lessons Dependent on Grade Level

 

Nutrition and Physical Activity is another program that adjusts material based on grade level. National health standards want students to learn how to self-manage themselves, access information, analyze influences, and set goals for healthy living. Essentially, this program seeks to make students more aware of what they do to their bodies and what foods they put into their bodies.  Students will learn what is in their food and what nutrients are important to look for. Older students will focus on topics such as healthy and unhealthy ways to manage weight, facts and myths about nutrition practices, and preparing healthy delicious meals. Skills that students will gain on completion of this program include:
