Heart Alive

Heart Alive is a cardiovascular screening and education program that is offered to businesses and organizations within Marion County. It is intended to help individuals reduce their risk of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD), such as coronary heart disease and stroke. Heart Alive provides an initial biometric screening for Total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, Hemoglobin A1C for diabetes, blood pressure and pulse, weight, height, and waist/hip measurements, with a series of classes on heart health, physical activity, and nutrition between, ending with a follow up 6 month biometric re-screening.

Active People, Healthy INDY℠

Active People, Healthy Indy℠  is a local initiative and adoption of Active People, Healthy Nation℠.

Active People, Healthy Nation℠ is a national initiative led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help 27 million Americans become more physically active by 2027. Increased activity can improve health, quality of life, and reduce healthcare costs. The Cardiovascular Program has adopted this initiative in an effort to engage community partnership through policies, systems, and environmental changes that integrate physical activity opportunity throughout Marion County.
