The Safe Dates curriculum addresses attitudes and behaviors associated with dating abuse and violence. It is the only evidence-based program that prevents dating abuse. The goals of this program are to raise student awareness of what healthy and unhealthy relationships look like, what causes an abusive relationship, and the consequences of an abusive relationship. This program helps equip students with the skills and resources needed to prevent abusive relationships and to help themselves or peers if they ever find themselves in an abusive dating relationship. Skills that students will gain on completion of this program include:

• Problem solving
• Identifying dangerous situations
• Avoiding dangerous situations
• Ability to identify red flags for physical and emotional abuse
