On Site Sewage Systems (Septic Systems)

The Marion County Public Health Department prevents the spread of disease by ensuring proper design, construction, operation, and closure of onsite wastewater systems often called septic systems.  The program partners with Citizen Energy Group’s Septic Tank Elimination Program (STEP) that brings sewers into areas of Marion County currently serviced by septic systems.

A permit for new and repair On Site Sewage Disposal Systems is required and must meet the standards in 410 IAC and Chapter 14 of the Code of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County.
