The Marion County Public Health Department plays an important role in the collective good health of the many people who live and work in the county.  Public health is what your health department does; protecting our community from threats and hazards, improving our neighborhoods and the quality of our lives, fighting and preventing communicable diseases and improving the health of individuals by improving the health of our community.
